The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
